Luis Palau shared some pretty good news from the main stage on both Friday and Saturday nights. As he said tonight, “And that’s why it’s the Good News!”
Did you miss the WHY that he was referring to? Find out more here.

1. The sermon should be stream lines to no longer than 15 to 20 minuets, and maybe done at an earlier time, not at the end of the day when all the people have been standing waiting to hear the final band. Not only did this sermon drag on and on and on and on, the same points were repeated several times. This was a very young crowd. The message would have had a greater effect if delivered by a younger more dynamic preacher. Everything about the event hyped up the audience. The sermon was in my opinion a huge letdown.
2. A misting system set up to cool the crowd. Similar to those you see in theme parks should be put in place.

Luis did a fabulous job on Saturday. He spoke the TRUTH through his wisdom and following the Spirit. Many were touch and turned to the Lord because of the great message.
Sure, it was hot, but as close as Luis and his staff are with the Lord, they really can’t control the temperature. People can choose to come prepared or take breaks from the heat (or donate the massive bucks to rent a spray machine for the ministry).
I greatly appreciate all of the work that went into this weekend!
Thank you to LEPA for the vision to reach out to the ciy of Portland and beyond with a FREE event. Dr. Palau did a wonderful job communicating the message to a fatherless generation.
Thank you for your insights Ron. Remember this was a FREE event and LPEA shouldered the cost of this event in order to present the gospel message and to unit churches in Portland to serve.
GREAT JOB LPEA!!!!
Regarding the sermon, the length of the sermon was extremely long. There were a number of people standing in front of the stage, some who had been there the entire day to see the headlining band. I was not one of the people in the crown, but my wife was. She told me of how numerous people were complaining. I personally observed several people who had to be carried out from the front of the stage, and brought to the back area behind the stage where they were treated by EMS personnel. My wife said just standing in close proximity to the people near the front of the stage amplified the heat. 10-15 degrees.
With these conditions, there should be some minimum safeguards set in place to prevent injury, heat stroke, etc.
